The Body & Soul Spa is a green oasis. Thanks to the lush jungle ambience, it does not matter at all that the entire area has absolutely no windows. Every one of the numerous green walls looks a little different. For the first time ever, the walls are actually three-dimensional, with individual plants protruding into the room. Additional containers with sweeping plants enhance the impression of being in a rainforest. Fun surprises during the assembly stage: DAUERFLORA’s greening of walls and doors was so successful that the crew could no longer find the doors. A little trick was necessary to ensure that insiders could find the handles. That’s definitely worth an accolade for convincing work.

Never before has DAUERFLORA decorated as many restaurants on a ship. The AIDAnova has more than 17 restaurants with cuisines from all over the world. With so many restaurants and up to 100 decorations per restaurant, the coordination required would exceed any time limits. AIDA therefore determines the look of the decorations together with DAUERFLORA, and DAUERFLORA then implements the decoration according to a fixed budget. What is important to AIDA is that the decorations do not come apart, which is why the Hamburg-based experts make arrangements that are tightly glued together and, as a result, stay together and make up a visual treat.

The Cube disco is one of the highlights on board the ship for night owls. Without any dancing guests – before the evening rush – you can clearly see the Perspex boxes DAUERFLORA has filled with different mosses. The moss is well-established, more specifically, it is real moss and has been specially treated to preserve it. This means it remains as beautiful as it was when it was harvested. In collaboration with the developers, the boxes were adapted in such a way that even the residual moisture in the plants does not impact on the crystal-clear presentation. The only thing missing now is the music.

Each of the 17 restaurants has not only its own cuisine, but also its own look. The aim is to emphasise this look by means of the decoration. So not only the buffets are decorated, but also the surfaces, walls and dining tables. For the florists responsible, this means ensuring that they are familiar with the dishes on offer, so that the decorations are absolutely spot on for the restaurant in question.

During the setup phase, the relevant florists cover many kilometres until all the delicious delights are finally in place. With so much physical activity, they probably wouldn’t mind if one or the other delicacy were edible, rather than just perfect decorations.
